Who can benefit from N.A.E.T & BioSET energy medicine?

Almost everyone can benefit from energy medicine treatments. N.A.E.T. and BioSET are especially beneficial for those suffering from chronic conditions such as allergy, Environmental Illness, chemical hyper-sensitivity, Fibromyalgia, dyslexia, ADHD, ADD and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

N.A.E.T./BioSET are alternative therapies that combine allopathy, chiropractic, kinesiology, nutrition, and acupressure. They do not replace traditional medical care but rather they complement western medical care.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine  

Yin-Yang theory from TCM  principles teaches the importance of homeostasis in the body.  According to TCM principles, "when the body is in perfect balance, no disease occurs". A disturbance in homeostasis leads to disease. Allergens adversely impact on the body's ability to maintain homeostasis.  In order to prevent or correct disease, homeostasis must be achieved.  Acupuncture, acupressure, moxa or cups when applied at specific acupuncture points are  capable of bringing the body to a state of homeostasis by removing energy blockages from energy pathways known as meridians. When blockages are removed, energy flows freely through the energy meridians, bringing the body into balance.

At our clinic we use TCM & Acupuncuture to not only treat allergies but a myriad of diseases such as arthritis, digestive diorders, bowel, chronic fatigue, fybromyalgia, muscle and joint injuries, etc.  

Kinesiology 

Kinesiology is the art and science of movement of the human body. It is used in N.A.E.T. to compare the strength and weakness of any muscle (also known as Muscle Response Testing) of the body in the presence and absence of any substance. Measured weakness in the presence of a substance is due to the effect of an allergy to the item the person is touching. This simple method can be used to detect your allergens.

Nutrition - You are what you eat!

Health is achieved, in great part, through proper nutrition and adequate assimilation. What is meant by the right nutrition? How do you achieve adequate assimilation? When you can eat nutritious foods without discomfort and assimilate their nutrients, that food is said to be the right food. If you get indigestion, bloating, or other digestive troubles upon eating the food, that food is not helping you function normally. This is due to an allergy to the food. Different foods react differently in different people. What is food for one may be poison for another. It is very important to clear allergies to nutrients. Upon successful clearing an allergy, patients begin to enjoy the benefit of eating wholesome foods.

Ironically, many people end up feeling poorly when they take vitamins and supplements. This may be due to undiagnosed allergies to components of their supplements. If they are allergic to their supplements, they will end up feeling worse, not better. A N.A.E.T. practitioner tests for hidden allergies treats patients to clear them. Once cleared, the body will then be able to successfully assimilate nutrients from foods and supplements.

Testing and Treatment Services at the NAET Clinic of Ottawa

New Patient Work Up - Basic NAET  includes a review of the patient's history and is followed by computerized electro-dermal testing for allergies to 25 specific Basic NAET items (+10 other items)  Ideal for patients who specifically know they want NAET treatments, this targeted approach takes less time and so costs less than our comprehensive testing.

New Patient Work Up - Full Allergy (Foods & Environmentals)  includes a review of the patient's history and is followed by computerized electro-dermal testing for allergies to 25 specific Basic NAET items as well as dozens of specific food and environmental items.  This testing is particularly useful for patients who wish to determine or confirm the specific food items and environmentals that trigger allergic responses or intolerances.  This computerized test is similar to the Basic NAET test but takes about 30-40 minutes longer.  Like the Basic NAET test there is a printed report that provides quantitative results for all items tested as well as a treatment plan according to the NAET protocol.  The results helps patients identify and avoid particularly severe allergens until they complete their individualized NAET treatment program.

New Patient Work Up - Comprehensive  testing includes a full review of the patient's history and is followed by computerized electro-dermal testing for BASIC NAET.  In addition to all the items tested in the Full Allergy (Food & Environmentals) Test we also test for metabolic functions and organ system (TCM) function which is particuarly useful for patients who experience symptoms that do not manifest as standard allergies and are more difficult to pin down.  The resulting treatment plan may follow established practice protocols for NAET and BioSET (allergies and sensitivities to food, environmental, chemical, microbial and auto-immune factors) or may follow other modalities such as TCM Acupuncture, Auricular electro-Acupuncture, Laser Detoxification, Homotoxicology, Lymphatic Drainage, Hypnotherapy, etc.

BioSET was developed by Dr. Ellen Cutler of Los Angeles California.  BioSET is based on techniques similar to NAET which have been refined to reduce or eliminate the 25 hour avoidance period requred by NAET.  BioSET embraces other treatment techniques, including the use of supplementation, that bring about a more holistic improvement in overall health.

Auricular Medicine and Auricular Therapy  is more than simple acupuncture on the ear using needle acupuncture, acupressure, laser acupuncture or electrodermal-acupuncure. We assess issues reported by the patient and we determine in which order meridians and organ systems need addressing to bring about the desired outcomes. Auricular Medicine is dynamic.  Auricular Therapy is the application of set protocols for specific outcomes.  Auricular Medicine is used to effectively treat acute and chronic conditions with quick effect. 

Auricular Medicine provides musculo-skeletal, organ and meridian healing and it provides pain reduction.  Various types of sessions provide specific outcomes. It can be used in combination with otherr therapies to synergistically improve the effect of both modalities.

Acupuncture and TCM  Acupuncture is the most well known and used techinique in the TCM arsenal.  A thorough TCM diagnosis is the first step in determining what specific Acupuncture points and pathways will be treated.  Understanding the interplay between external factors (pathogens) that contribute to disease and the subtle functioning of the bodies organs (zangfu) and energy pathways is key to identifying the underlying disease process.  Only then can a prober diagnosis be made and appropriate Acupuncture points selected for treatment.

When working with specific meridians, channels and acupuncture points one can use several techniques.  The most commonly known technique is needling and this is what most people associate with when they hear TCM or Acupuncture.  But there is also cupping, moxibustion, electroacupuncture and tui na manipulation.

Acupuncture can be employed to treat both acute and chronic conditions.  Acupuncture is a completely "natural therapy" that harnesses the body's own abilities by stimulating, redirecting, rebalancing and otherwise correcting energies that have degraded and have resulted in sub-optimal performance and disease.   

Acupuncture Plus   At our clinic acupuncture is often combined with other treatment modalities to enhance and magnify the effect of both.  For instance, in combination with NAET and with hands on Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) acupuncture can enhance the speed of the reduction of swelling in tissues (edema). 

 Acupuncture can be provided simultaneoulsly with Hypnosis to enhance the outcomes of both modalities.  As an example, pain reduction can be treated with acupuncture and the simultaneous use of hypnosis (and/or homotoxicology, etc.) to great effect.

Homotoxicology  is a particularly effective specialty of homeopathy pioneered by Dr. Heinrich Reckeweg (1877-1944) which parallels conventional medicine.  Most homotoxicology remedies are specific combinations of single homeopathic remedies used in traditional homeopathy.  The homotoxicology products provide predictable outcomes that do not vary with each patient, as does the traditional constitutional remedy.  Remedies are provided (usually) in multiple potencies that are able to provide desired changes to organs, tissues or systems without the usual aggravations expected in traditional homeopathy.  Dr. D. Detoxification at the NAET Clinic of Ottawa

Infra-Red Sauna Detox  sessions typically starts with a 10-15 minute aerobic exercise (elipitical or stationary bike) followed by a 30-45 minute Infra-Red sauna.  The patient is then required to shower (towel is provided) to remove toxins excreted during the sauna session, before they are reabsorbed through the skin.  Pre-paid packages are available at a discount

Laser Acupuncture Detoxification (LAD) provides an Initial assessment with computerized testing for detoxification panels.  LAD patients are followed up and re-assessed on a periodic basis.  A Chi treatment is required immediately prior to each LAD session.

Combined and Comprehensive Detox Programs  offer a combination of our standard detox services: Infra-Red Sauna Detox and Ion Foot Detox (including Aerobics, Chi machine and shower).  We also offer an more comprehensive program which adds Auricular Detox Therapy.  Our programs include supplements that stimulate and facilitate the detoxification process. 

We also make available specific Detox products such as detox Foot Pads (worn while you sleep) and the Heel Detox Kit, which gently accelerates the body's detoxification.  We can customize a program for you based on your toxic exposures and the approach you prefer to take. 

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a hands-on treatment to reduce tissue edema or swelling.  Manual lymphatic drainage is especially beneficial for allergy. Following injury or surgery, MLD reduces pain, improves recovery and shortens post operative healing time.  MLD reduces head fullness through a technique referred to as a "brain drain".  MLD is also very useful in detoxification as it stimulates the body's lymphatic system and boosts its ability to remove and carry away toxins that are released through the various detoxification methods described above.  Patients at the Clinic enjoy a combination of either NAET with lymphatic drainage and/or with hypnosis and/or with auricular detox therapy.  These therapies synergistically enhance each other to provide a fast recovery and remarkable outcomes.

Other Services

Environmental House Inspection is available to patients to determine Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues for potential allergens and other environmental triggers. Clients are provided a verbal report or they may upgrade to a written report.

Air Extractor Rental is available for a one week period.  Extractor provides a sample of your home or office air for allergy testing and treatment purposes.
